Ecommerce Microsite

The Microsite feature allows creation of one or more sub-sites which shares the same catalogue, inventory and customer data but shows just a subset of the product information. In short, if you planning to sell a wide range of electricals you can order a sub store to just sell TVs or hoovers. All the product data will be loaded just the once and will be seen in both the electricals store and the TVs store. Why might you want to do this? There are a number of reasons, microsites tend to be more tightly focussed to the task of selling the one item or one product range. Also, with a microsite you may wish to offer an alternate pricing scheme to the parent site. Customers will be unaware of the link between the store because externally they are quite separate. Additionally, you may wish to separate the store for reasons of delegating the workload, eg. one regional office handles the TV sales while another branch is responsible for hoovers
